Past grantee, Angela Little has been nominated for Feature Film Score of the Year in the 2022 APRA-AGSC Screen Music Awards and Best Original Score in Film in the 2022 Australian Academy of Cinema Television Arts (AACTA) Awards.
In 2018, with the support of the Cultural Trust, Angela undertook a Master of Music in Screen Scoring at the University of Southern California, USA. The program is widely regarded as the world's top screen-scoring course.
A Stitch in Time, written and directed by Sasha Hadden, was released Australia-wide in February 2022. The feature film tells the story of a former dressmaker, Liebe (Maggie Blinco) who reinvents herself after befriending a young Chinese fashion designer.
Angela’s score features a chamber string orchestra and live piano recorded at the Trackdown scoring stage in Sydney. Live harp, wind instruments, guitars and dulcimers were recorded in Los Angeles. The score also features Angela’s voice, layered and processed to blend with the instrumental textures.
The annual Screen Music Awards are presented by APRA AMCOS in conjunction with the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC). The ceremony acknowledges excellence and innovation in the field of screen composition.
Angela has been nominated for Feature Film Score of the Year in the 2022 APRA-AGSC Screen Music Awards. As well as her nomination for Feature Film Score of the Year, Angela has received a second nomination in the Best Music for an Advertisement category for her work on the AusFilm trailer 'The Australian Job'.
The APRA-AGSC Screen Music Awards winners will be announced at a ceremony on 15 November 2022 at The Forum in Melbourne.
The AACTA Awards (formerly the AFI Awards) recognise excellence in the film and television industry. The AACTA Awards are peer-assessed and the only Australian industry body to honour practitioners across all crafts and industry sectors, including feature films, documentaries, short films, television, online, visual effects, and animation.
Angela's score for A Stitch in Time has been nominated for the AACTA Award for Best Original Score in Film.
The 2022 AACTA Awards, presented by Foxtel Group, will be held on 7 December 2022 at The Hordern in Sydney's iconic Entertainment Quarter, home of Fox Studios.
